Presenter

David Kapolka

David Kapolka is Key’s Technology Product Specialist and the president-elect of The Council of Presidential Awardees in Mathematics (CPAM). Kapolka taught middle and high school in Michigan for 34 years, often using The Geometer’s Sketchpad® and Fathom software in his classroom. Kapolka has been a National Science Foundation Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow, an AP Calculus Reader; a Content Reviewer for NCTM’s Mathematics Teacher, a Beta Tester for Texas Instruments, a University of Chicago School Mathematics Project Technology Consultant, and an Eisenhower National Clearinghouse Ambassador. He also won the NASA Newmast Educator Award in 1998 and the RadioShack National Teacher Award in 1999.

Kapolka graduated with a bachelor’s degree in math and science elementary and middle school education from Michigan State University. He later earned a master’s in education from Western Michigan University and a master’s in mathematics secondary education from the University of Detroit.
