How To... > Work with Formulas

Formulas are used throughout Fathom for a variety of purposes. You can use formulas to:

define attributes (see Enter a Formula for an Attribute).

filter cases in collections, tables, graphs, estimates, and tests (see Write a Filter).

plot values and functions on graphs (see Plot a Line at a Given Value on a Graph and Plot a Function on a Graph).

determine what information appears in a summary table.

determine where cases appear in collections and how they look and are captioned (see Change the Appearance of Cases in a Collection).

define measures (see Define a Measure).

compute the value of slider (see Define a Slider by Formula).

control when sampling or measures collections stop.

Any time you create or edit a formula, you use the same formula editor interface (see Anatomy of the Formula Editor).
