Fathom Reference > Fathom Menus > Object Menu > New

Provides a submenu for creating new Fathom objects. Fathom places the new object in a blank space, if possible, in the same area as you are viewing; if there is no blank space where you are in the document window, Fathom places a new object below existing objects and scrolls so you can see it.

Using the commands from this menu differs from dragging objects from the shelf, in that when dragging from the shelf, you decide where to place the object.

Most of these commands have keyboard shortcuts.

Note: If you don’t see a new object appear after using one of these commands or shortcuts, the object might be hiding behind an inspector window.
