Fathom 2.13 is a downloadable version of Fathom 2 that is registered with a License Name and Authorization Code.

 

Previous Fathom Users Running Fathom 2 from a CD Installation

 

Starting with Fathom 2.13, the only way to purchase or update Fathom is by downloading and registering the most recent version. You can choose to continue using your CD-installed version of Fathom, but to update to Fathom 2.13, you must obtain a License Name and Authorization Code by calling McGraw-Hill Customer Service at 877-833-5524.

 

Previous Fathom Users Running Fathom 2.11L

 

If you are already registered Fathom 2.11L, your License Name and Authorization Code will carry over automatically to this and any future updates of Fathom 2. You can simply download and install Fathom 2.13 to update Fathom.

 

New Users of Fathom

 

You can download Fathom 2.13 for free and preview it, but to unlock its full features you must purchase a license. To purchase a license online, go to www.keycurriculum.com/products/fathom and click "Buy It" (which will take you to the McGraw-Hill Education website), or launch Fathom 2.13 in preview mode and select “Purchase a new license” on the startup screen.

Technical updates to ensure full compatibility with latest operating systems on Windows and Mac. .

Time-series data sets are updated.

 

Changes in Fathom 2.11

 

Thirty new sample documents were added.

Eight new movies (mainly in the area of Estimates, Regression and Modeling) were added.

There are new functions for list functionality and one for computing the greatest common denominator.

Date-time function output is now internationalized.

Go! probes work with OS 10.5 on the Mac.

Status messages for graph elements of Date Time attributes now reflect the correct units.

Display precision of Multiple Regression Model equation is more appropriate the model display size.

The StringToTimeDuration has been removed.

Minor typos in formula editor help strings were fixed.

 

Changes in Fathom 2.1

 

For the Macintosh, Fathom ships as a universal binary, fully compatible with Power PC and Intel-based systems.

Fathom now has two new objects, meters, and experiments that can be used to accumulate data into a collection over a period of time.

Fathom can collect data from Vernier sensors. Look at the section in Help on Work with Meters and Create Experiments for more details.

Date/time values are supported and can be zoomed in when on graph axes. Importing dates now creates attributes with date/time units.

Errorbars, gridlines and picture backgrounds work for graphs.

Formulas and any collections associated with the slider are now displayed in the slider. You can also create experiments using sliders -- just drag the plug to a collection.

There is a new Help system with much better search capabilities. The tours from the Learning Guide can now be accessed from Help. There is a table of all the keyboard shortcuts available in Fathom.

There are new units for milliseconds, microseconds, nanoseconds, microseconds, deciliters, calories, kilocalories, mole, angstrom.

Values in Summary Tables, Graphs and Sliders can now be formatted.

 

Changes in Fathom 2.03

 

There is now multiline editing support for text - you can resize individual rows in the case table. This is especially useful for survey questions.

Category sets can now be defined from the cases panel of the inspector.

File->Import->Import From File would not allow html files to be chosen. Now it does.

On the Mac, Cmd-? now takes you to Fathom Help.

Switching between scatter plot and line scatter plot no longer removes any moveable lines present.

On Windows, the file size problem is fixed. The file size reflects the amount of "stuff" in the document.

Missing values are properly handled by the analysis of variance test, the compare means test, and the difference of means estimate.

 

Changes in Fathom 2.02

 

The symbol for the unit lightspeed was changed from c to light.

The symbol for the unit byte was changed from B to byte.

The symbol for the unit angstrom was changed to Å.

Fixed several bugs in the text object to improve editing and styling.

Bar charts now have a new, grandTotal function available to them for use in computing proportions.

Fixed a number of bugs in the multiple regression object, including update problems and occasional crashes.

Improved handling of international characters.

Fixed a bug which prevented dragging data in split dot plots.

Fathom no longer fails to launch in the presence of certain printer drivers.
